Santa

With less than three weeks until Christmas, I feel a burning desire to weigh in on Santa. I have many students who simply don't believe in Santa. In fact, I have several neices who don't believe that Santa exists. Now, don't get me wrong. I believe that Santa exists, but not the "put presents under my tree" Santa in which so many young people want to believe, but a bigger, more important Santa.
I'm rereading a series of books that Santa brought me when I was 9. THey were all "classic" pieces of literature--Heidi, The Black Stallion, The Wizard of Oz, etc. The box contained 12 treasures that I read and reread throughout my life. And, they were all paperback, so they are not in as good of condition as most Kindle editions would be after... so many years. The books were delivered by my parents, but the joy that they've brought could only be from Santa.
My grandparents house had a slippery set of stairs to the second floor--where the kids slept on our visits. And at Christmas, we would show up and find three containers of Chex Mix sitting on the stairs--one for each of us. Grandma had Chex Mix everywhere in the house, but she always claimed that those containers were not put there by her. Santa?
