I'm always learning....

Every summer I spend a short amount of time reflecting on what I've done and what I want to accomplish. It's short because as I get older I also realize that what has passed can't be changed. Going forward is the only direction to go.
Armour recently suffered through a flood. The entire middle section of town and several outlying areas suffered losses from flooded basements. The city and county will need to work on fixing roads and culverts. It's a devastating thing--flooding.
It's amazing what you learn about people when things like a natural disaster occurs. Granted, it doesn't rank in the same category as a BP oil spill, but for a small town with limited funds right now it just feels that way. It's the things you learn that make coming out on the other side worth it. We should take more time to learn those things before a disaster occurs. I find that people surprise me more and more as it's the things we don't know that make others worth knowing.
