At the movies

I love to see how directors and screenwriters change or, I imagine from their perspective, improve the film. I enjoyed reading the Time Travelers Wife as a novel. Now alas, I wait for the film and see what they have changed.
The glory of the film was the idea that the main character fell in love with an unattainable man. Not a novel idea. In fact, I'm sure that the storyline is one that is way too common in film and written history.
But in this particular storyline she knows when she will lose him. Now that's intriguing!
We all hope to find that soul mate and hope as well that it lasts but imagine if you knew ahead of time that it was going to end ahead of time.
It begs the question that everyone ponders and writes rock ballads on.... What if you knew this was your last day? Alive. Together. Whatever it may be. What would you do and would it ultimately have more significance? Would we treasure the moments more? Or would we do what we are already doing? And why would we need that impetus to make us do something that we should already be doing?
I will report on the film as I sit here waiting for it to start on the big screen. And how well the directors did in their translation.
