It is a feeling that no matter what the ideas or conduct of others, there is a unique rightness and beauty to life which can be shared in openness, in wind and sunlight, with a fellow human being who believes in the same basic principles...Sylvia Plath

Connections
I spend a great deal of my teaching time trying to get my students to make connections to the world and real life. An attempt to personalize information that unfortunately too many find outdated and unnecessary. Yet, in the same breath I know many of them are making connections in social networking sites. I personally share with many the novels that I am reading and love to understand and see other's perspectives on the same novels I am reading. I like the idea behind making connections. I want my students to appreciate the connections they can make and search for those that aren't so readily accessible. I want it to become a lifelong goal rather than one just done for the assignment or the day. Look for ideas that transpire in the novels read that can be applied to everyday life.
